ABBEY, Curtis G., 56, of Richmond, died on Sunday, January 22, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Elsa A. Abbey; three daughters, Chrissy Sims and her husband, Lee, Gina Durbin and Angie Durbin; one grandson, Dylan Sims; two brothers, Gary Abbey and David Abbey. Mr. Abbey was preceded in death by a sister, April Laidler. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran with 20 years service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Parkway. A funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday, January 30 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
