─═════════ ✿ڰۣڿ✿ Remembrance ✿ڰۣڿ✿ ═════════─

I met Carolyn in 1988 when we worked together at Hoosier Energy. I was fresh out of college and Carolyn and I shared an office. At the time she had grown kids who had children of their own; her youngest was in high school.

One would think there would be a huge generation gap between us; that maybe two people who are at very different stages in their lives wouldn't get along. That wasn't the case with Carolyn and me. We were always pulling pranks on each other and she made going to work something to look forward to. We had lunch together nearly each day, even after I transferred to another Division.

It's been a year since Carolyn's passing. She has left a void in my life that will never be filled. She was a wonderful friend, but more she was family.

Carolyn was a wonderful, giving person. The last time I talked to her (less than a week before she died) she was taking a friend to the beauty salon. As sick as she was she still wanted to help others. When my Mom was ill and she was moved from Johnson County to Bloomington, an hour drive for me one way, Carolyn volunteered to visit with my Mother on the day I couldn't go to Bloomington. And there were many times when Carolyn would just show up when I was visiting with my Mom. She was there for me more than some of my blood relation. Carolyn also volunteered at the Endwright Center in Ellettsville. Carolyn freely gave of her time and talents and I saw the example she set time and time again. She was a wonderful human being.

I know that each person who comes into our lives, family and friends, is there for a reason. They are there to touch our lives for good or for bad. Carolyn has left a void of goodness.
