STAUNTON — Wayman Cecil Brock Sr., 73, widower of Pearl (Dudley) Brock, of 411 Marquis St., died Monday, April 16, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Green County, a son of the late Wayman Ray Brock and Annie (Alley) Curry.

Mr. Brock was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Walmart.

He was a member of the Church of God and Heaven's Golden Gate's Church.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Katie Shuey.

Family members include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry O. Brock of Texas, Wayman C. "Wayne" Jr. and Linda Brock of Oklahoma and Wayman C. "Bucky" Brock Jr. of Crimora; a daughter and son-in-law, Madeline "Maggie" and Bobby Manley of Staunton; two stepsons, Jacy Knapp and Jr. Schutz, both of Staunton; a stepdaughter, Kelsey Schutz of Staunton; a brother, Eddie Brock; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jessie and Ira "Junior" Thomas of Craigsville, Debbie Hipes of Charlottesville and Katherine Derflinger of Winchester; five grandchildren, Megan Brock, Angela "Angie" Waybright, Gabby Knapp, Jacy Knapp and Gracie Bell Knapp; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Alivia Waybright and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Pastor Golden C. Clark Jr.

Active pallbearers will be Steven Shuey Jr. Schutz, Junior Thomas, Jerry Jordan and James Ramsey Jr.
