Charles Edwin Draper was the son of Orsen A. and Maria Lipton Taylor Draper. He was born on March 6, 1909 at Howard, Kan. He died Monday, February 13, 2006 at the Cheyenne County Hospital.
On Mov. 9, 1936, he married Harriette F. Mossburgh, at Ogallala, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Harriette F. Draper; infant daughter, Janet Carol Draper; a son, William Edwin Draper; three brothers, Earl, Lamar and Raymond; sister, Hazel Draper Schlatter and husband Bill; sister-in-law Ethel Draper; three sons-in-law; and one granddaughter, Heather Draper.
Survivors include sister, Irene Rose of Hamilton, Mont., and sisters-in-law, Helen Draper of Cleveland, Texas and Blanch Draper of Benkelman, Neb. Surviving children are Raythel Lea Draper Reuber of Ludell, Kan., Vivian Draper Jones of Lincoln, Neb., Phyllis Draper Bexley of St. Francis, Joann "Jody" Draper Lee and husband, Ray, of Wheeler, Kan., and one son, Robert Draper and wife, Stella, of St. Francis, Kan.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Services were held Feb. 18 at the First Christian Church in St. Francis with Pastor Tony Christian officiating.
Casket bearers were Kevin and Dale Reuber, Kim Wittstruck, Shane Jones, John and Charles Hartman, Neal and Nolan Draper, Gail, Gerald, Billyand Bobby Lee and Brian and Alex Draper.
Burial was in the Grace Cemetery in McDonald.
Memorials are designated to Hospice Services.
Knodel Funeral Home of St. Francis was in charge of the service.
