On April 6, 2012 a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Annie B. Bryant departed this life on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Riverview on the Appomattox, Hopewell.

She was born January 17, 1935 in Middleton, NC to the late William Collins and Annie Mae Brown.

She attended Davis High School in Engelhard, NC and in 1952 she moved with her family to Hopewell, VA.

Blanche became a member of Union Baptist Church, Hopewell, where she served faithfully. She served as a Missionary, on the Pastor's Aide and the Culinary committee.

She worked diligently at several jobs before being employed at the Ft. Lee Officer's Club, where she retired with over 27 years of service.

She was well known through out the Hopewell community and her door was always open to everyone in need. She loved to cook and help anyone in need. She also had a great love for fashion.

Blanche was preceded in death by her grandson, Anthony Bailey and a brother, Robert Collins.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Charlie Bryant, Sr. (Rosemary) of Richmond; two daughters, Diane Bryant Phyall (Smith) of Baltimore, MD and Brenda Bryant of Petersburg; a devoted sister, Ida Bowles of Hopewell; three brothers, Henderson Collins (Verna) of Jacksonville, NC, Madison Collins (Ida) and Roscoe Collins (Iris) all of Hopewell; a sister-in-law, Florence Collins of Hopewell; eight grandchildren, Charlie Bryant, Jr. of Richmond, Tamisha Franklin, Eugene Redfern, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Amanda Wyche of Dinwiddie, Christopher Bryant, Akeiba Stokes of Petersburg and Kenya Bryant of Hopewell; eighteen great-grandchildren, among them two devoted, Brianna Wyche and Ciara Franklin; four great great grandchildren; a host of devoted nieces, nephews and cousins; a devoted friend, Jean Hawkins, who made sure her sister Ida was by her side. A special thank you to the staff of Riverview on the Appomattox and Heartland Hospice Care of Richmond.

A funeral service was held at 12 noon, Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Union Baptist Church, Hopewell, with the Pastor, Rev. Joshua King officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Sinai Community Cemetery, Prince George.

There was a wake from 7pm to 8pm, Friday, April 13, 2012, at the chapel of Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell. The family received friends at the home of her brother, Madison Collins, 131 Booker Street, Hopewell.
