FRAIZE-MORRIS Melissa Lee Fraize-Morris, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Billerica, age 35, died peacefully Friday, May 27, 2011, surrounded by her family and friends after a long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Craig A. Morris with whom she would have celebrated her twelfth wedding anniversary in August. Born June 24, 1975 in Lowell, she was the daughter of Fred and Stella Fraize. She grew up in Billerica and attended Billerica Public Schools. She also attended Middlesex Community college.
Melissa worked at Step by Step Academy, a center for autistic children. She was an avid activist for the center and the children who need so much. She loved her work and all of the people there who supported her with love and understanding through her illness. When Melissa was well, she volunteered at her church, Ascension Lutheran Church. She helped run the Vacation Bible School and gave art lessons to the children. Melissa was quite a good artist and loved to share her talents with all. Melissa's last wish was to come back home to see all her family and friends who were so very important to her. Many dear friends, relatives, and strangers made this possible. She was truly moved by the efforts of so many people to make this wish come true for her. She had many smiles in those two short days. It gave her the strength to move on to her place with the Lord. Melissa and her family can never thank all those people enough. A memorial service will be held for Melissa in Ohio at her church in June. Memorial contributions in Melissa's name may be made to Step by Step Academy OSU/Harding Hospital Campus, 445 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Worthington , OH 43085. Besides her husband and parents; she is survived by her children, Hollyann and Logan Morris; her step-daughters, Shannon and Megan Morris; her brother, Darrell Fraize; her niece and nephew, Alexandria and Benjamin Fraize; her grandmother, Estella Elliot; and her mother-and father-in-law, Chris and Ken Morris. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
