Elsie C. Taylor 89 years of age of Hiram, passed away Saturday, Dec 20, 2008 at North Hills Manor Care in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Born January 24, 1919 in Cleveland, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Ludvig and Ruzena (Absolon) Letak. A homemaker, Mrs. Taylor was a longtime Hiram area resident, who with her late husband "Ben" operated their family farm for many years, she often drove the tractor. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Hiram Christian Church, Crescent Chapter O.E.S where she served as Worthy Matron and was active with Cub Scouts when her children were young. She was a lady who enjoyed music and traditional church hymns were many of her favorites. On July 20, 1940 she married Benjamin C. "Ben" Taylor who died in 2000. Also preceding her in death were 2 brothers and 1 sister. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her two sons Raymond (Joanne) Taylor of Danville, Kentucky and Daniel (Bernadette) Taylor of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Sunday December 28, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where the funeral service will be Monday December 29, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Roger McKinney officiating. Final resting place will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hiram.
