Eleanor died just over the Ohio State line in Wayne County Indiana. She was originally buried in the Beulah Cemetery which was located east of Gravel Pit Road in Jefferson Township, Preble, Ohio. The cemetery was later moved from its original location to Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. The Beulah Cemetery was associated with the Beulah Presbyterian Church which existed in the early 1800's. A memorial was erected to remember the early settlers, among them Eleanor and her husband Thomas. On the monument is inscribed:

TO THIS LITTLE BAND OF PIONEERS FROM BEULAH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH,WHOSE SIMPLE FAITH AND STEADFAST COURAGE MADE POSSIBLE A HOME IN THE WILDERNESS AMID THE RUGGED SYLVAN BEAUTY OF THE WHITEWATER VALLEY -- THIS MEMORIAL IS ERECTED 1816 - 1946
