George Vener Anderson was the second eldest son of Andrew John Anderson and Carolina Charlotte Rosenquist. He had four brothers and two sisters: Aaron Edward, Esther Aluris, Edna Elizabeth, Carl Gilbert ("Gil"), John Arthur ("Art"), and Oscar Clemens ("Clem").
He married Ruth W. Hult, in 1919, daughter of Carl Hult and Elizabeth Frejd-Hult. He and Ruth had three children: Carolyn Elizabeth, Lawrence, and Ray.
George and Ruth lived most their lives in Webster County, Iowa. George died in an accident where he was run over by a stampeding horse and carriag that was spooked by the back-fire of a passing by motor vehicle.
