Visitation was from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. today at Linden Lawn Cemetery south of Olney with Steve Wingert officiating.
Miss Brashear was born on March 16, 1941, in Richland County, the daughter of Arlie and Elsie Julie (McGinn) Brashear.
She worked as a house parent for many years at Texas Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock, Texas. She had to return to Olney due to ill health. She was a member of Olney Free Methodist Church.
Miss Brashear is survived by her mother, Elsie Julia Brashear, of Olney; four brothers, Fred Brashear, of Osteen FL, Dan Brashear, of Olney, Sam Brashear, of Olney, and Don Brshear, of Orcas, WA; four sisters, Carol Purdue, of St. Augustine, FL, Mary Brashear, of Olney Arlene Purdy, of Tucson, AZ, and Jane Keller, of Shelburn, IN; two half-sister, Dorothy Brinkley, of Olney, and Alberta Cummins, of Olney; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, and a half-sister, Dora Fleming.
Memorials may be made to Olney Free Methodist Church or National Kidney Foundation.
