OTIS CARLISLE JEFFCOAT
Otis Carlisle Jeffcoat, 69, of 207 Greenwood Road, West Columbia, died June 17 at his home.
He was born in Swansea, a son of the late Danner Newton and Maggie Cartin Jeffcoat. He was a member and deacon of Greenhill Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer for the past 23 years. Also, he was member and associate teacher of the Men's Bible Class. He was a member of Acacia Masonic Lodge and the jamil Temple and a retired employee of Thurston Motor Lines.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs Lois Ross Jeffcoat; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Sylvia) Kowaleski of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Phyllis Stroman of Cayce; a son, Charles G. Jeffcoat of Columbia, a brother Boynton Jeffcoat of Swansea, and three grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday at Green Hill Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Douglas Newton, B.T. Epting, and Grady Parker. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were William Hutto, Charles R Shealy, Sr., George Scott, William Barton, Coy Carter and Michael Doud.
Thompson funeral home was in charge.
