WEST POINT - Clara Nell Osburn, 88, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997, at the Clay County Medical Center in West Point. She was born in Troy , the daughter of the late Lon and Betty Weeks Herndon. She came to West Point in 1946. She was a homemaker and a member of West End Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Osburn, on Aug. 8, 1995.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Partin officiating. Burial will be in West Point Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Nell Kirkland and Alice Kendrick, both of West Point, and Lynn Gentry of Aberdeen; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mattie Lou Edwards of Gulfport; two brothers, Joe Doyle Herndon of New Albany and J.L. Herndon of Nashville, Tenn.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Kendrick, Trey Kendrick, Todd Gentry, Scott T. Kendrick, Steve Haynes and Sonny Osburn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. T.N. Braddock, Jimmie Pruett, Julius Ward, Charles Watson and Carl Weathers.

Memorials may be made to the West End Baptist Church, P.O. Box 388, West Point, Miss. 39773 or Calvary Baptist Church, 460 McCord St., West Point, Miss. 39773.
