Theodore F. "Ted" Butler, 78, retired Union Pacific railroad employee, died Friday, May 10, 1974, at Community Memorial hospital. He had been a long time resident of Mary Marshall Manor.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 a.m. St. Gregory's Catholic church, with Father Jack Harrington officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

The son of Frank and Nancy (Partridge) Butler he was born May 1, 1896. He was married October 7, 1919, to Violet May Long, who preceded him in death. His second marriage December 26, 1927, was to Mrs. Pauline Kienlen - Butler, who died October 10, 1957.

A veteran of World War I, he was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic church.

Also preceeding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Chris and Charles, and a sister, Irene Campbell.

Survivors were his children, Helen West, Riverside, Calif.; Celia Unruh, Tonganoxie; Delia Hiskey, Marysville; Rose Marie Graham, Manhattan; his step-children Mrs. Eldon Davis, Mrs. Pauline Krotsinger, Mrs. Verris De Lair and George Butler, all of Marysville; Mrs. Joe Butler, Oketo, Mrs. Constance Studer, Beattie; 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, one brother, Glenn Butler, Kansas City; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Brown, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Hattie Owens and Mrs. Amanda Marshall, both of Blue Rapids.

Pallbearers were Jack, Donald, Darrell, and Steve Butler, Marion Hogan and Don Cushing.
