Brumfield, Jay Mylor, 54, of Lexington, loving brother of Lucy Brumfield, and uncle of Lyle Blunck, passed away January 3, 2008, after a brief illness. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Jay Brumfield and Mary Beale Mylor Brumfiled, both of Lexington. He is survived by first cousin Leanne Meyers of Manhattan Beach, California, and cousins Donna Terrell Jones and Wick Terrell, both of Lexington.

Jay was born in Lexington, attended Tates Creek High School, the University of Virginia, and the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta. He was also a member of Central Christian Chruch. He was self-employed as a photographer.

Jay enjoyed golf, thoroughbred racing at Keeneland, European travel, and good food and wine shared with friends. He was blessed with many friends, those closest to him being Tommy Martin, Bill Patterson, Walter Brown, and their families.

Graveside services will take place on Sat. Jan. 5, 2008 at Lexington Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to their favorite charity or the Unitersity of Kentucky School of Music.
