"Joyce L. Pharis Basinger, 65, passed away April 25, 2003 at Kindred Hospital in Arlington, TX, after an illness.
Joyce was born October 4, 1937, the daughter of Luther Ray and C. Christine Pharis in Midland, California. She had lived in the Dallas area for several years. Joyce worked as a legal secretary of the city of Dallas, TX. She was an Easter Star and a member of the First Baptist Church in Seneca.
Survivors include one son, Greg King, Seneca; two daughters, Christy Ann Ellis, Clifton, TX and Susan Laurie King, state of Texas; one brother, Verl D. Pharis, Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren, Andrea Verynek, Thomas King, Jake King, Tobias Souders and Elizabeth King; three great-grandchildren, Alorie Souders, Matthew King and Marissa King; and five nieces and nephews.
Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 in the Capbell-Biddlecome Chapel with Joyce's brother, Verl Pharis, officiating. Burial was in the Seneca Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt Ellis, Greg King, Thomas King, David Dawdson and Bob Kelly."
