Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter, Mon. Oct. 23, 1950, p. 20, c. 1. RICHARD EVANS DIES IN NORTH WHILE HUNTING. City Resident Is Stricken At Rhinelander; Burial To Be In Calvary Plot. Richard N. Evans, 46, of 310 Tompkins street, who collapsed and died of a heart attack at Rhinelander Saturday night while on a hunting trip in that area, will be buried Wednesday in Calvary cemetery after services at 10 a.m. in the Geo. M. Dugan funeral home. The body of Mr. Evans is in state at the funeral home. A resident of this city the last 27 years, Mr. Evans was born Aug. … spent his early life there, latter moving to Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Evans was a member of Fond du Lac Aeire of Eagles and of Local 3056, Carmen, and a former president of the latter group. Surviving are his widow, the former Marie Beyer, of this city; eight children, Mrs. Arthur Sonnenberg, Van Dyne, Sergt. Edward Evans, Ft. Lawton, Wash., Mrs. Clarence Barber, North Fond du Lac, and Sally Ann, Joan Marie, Richard J. Genevieve and Judith, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Edward Evans and Mrs. Russell Conton, both of Seattle, and his mother, Mrs. Michael Kramer, Custer, Wash.

Dugan funeral home, with burial in Calvary cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Carl Zimmerman, Steven Strong, William Smith, Clifford Benning, John Wintongill and Hilary Salentine. Active pallbearers were Orville Ballwanz, Anthony Dahm, Russell Van Gordon, Michael Organ, John Julius and Maurice Lubby. Among those attending the services were Sergt. Edward H. Evans, Seattle; Clifford Benning, Oshkosh; John Wintongill, Green Bay and Hilary Salentine, Appleton.
