ROSEVILLE - Mrs. Melvin Atchinson, 41, died at St. Mary's hospital in Galesburg at 3:30 o'clock Sunday morning. She was admitted to the hospital on Monday, Oct. 2 and submitted to a major operation Tuesday morning. Her death was caused by embolism.
Ethel Rubert was born on Jan. 17, 1898, in Blandinsville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rubert. She married Melvin Atchinson at Monmouth in November 1917, and she had spent all her married life in Roseville with the exception of one year spent in Abingdon.
She is survived by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Roy of Austin, Minn., and Ralph of LaHarpe; two sisters, Mrs. May Stewart of Abingdon and Mrs. Helen Sugart of Blandinsville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Roseville Christian church in charge of Rev. Thomas Parkinson. Burial will be in Roseville cemetery.
