Iris Enns, 84, passed from this life on June 27, 2011, at her home in Chico.

Iris was born Sept. 8, 1926 to Alexander and Melda Weekley, the youngest of seven children. Always active, she became a Girl Scout and, as a high schooler, worked as a lifeguard at Girl Scout and church camp.

In 1957, Iris married Murray Washburn. They settled in Chico, where Murray passed away in 1968.

In 1963, Iris graduated from Chico State College with a degree in Nursing. She was employed by Enloe Hospital for eighteen years.

Iris and Herman Enns were married September 10, 1971. She became the mother of four adult children born to Herman and his late wife, Katie.

She is survived by her husband, Herman; a brother, Joe Weekley of Mission Viejo, CA; four children, Erma (Tom) Kalb of Orland, Valina (Lowell) Ford of Kerby, OR, Gladys (Richard) Kelley of Yuba City and Gaylord (Patti) Enns of Chico; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great- grandchildren.
