JACKSON, Mich. - Ellen (Frappier) Abernathy, 76, of Jackson and formerly of Montpelier, Ohio, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at Jackson Medical Facility of Jackson, where she was a resident.
Born April 25, 1929, to Ester (Caywood) and Eural Toner, she married Billy Abernathy on May 19, 1972, and he survives.
She was very active with the Montpelier Moose No. 270, Montpelier bowling leagues and the Jackson Moose, golf and bowling leagues.
Surviving are a son, Michael Dewey of Jonesville; two daughters, Deborah Sines of Montpelier and Jodi Kirkland of Jackson; two stepchildren, Michael Abernathy of Bay City and Mrs. Charles (Vicki) Simpkins of California; five grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. William (Theresa) Harmon of Edgerton and Margo Guyse of Montpelier; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Roseland Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
