Mrs. Callie Lillian Parker Terry, of Lake City, Florida, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. Born June 14, 1914 in St. Petersburg, Florida, Callie lived the majority of her 94 years on the family farm between Lake City and Branford, Florida. She was a dedicated and active member of Siloam United Methodist Church where she served faithfully while raising her family in the love and abundant grace of the Lord. Each day was lived to the fullest enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She never intentionally missed a birthday, graduation, or marriage celebration within her large, but closely knit family. Her legacy of strength, love, gentleness, and caring will always remain in the hearts of those who knew her best and loved her most.

Callie was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin DeWilton Terry; her father, William T. (Willie) Parker; her mother, Virginia O'Neal Parker; a sister, Virginia Parker Lowe; and two brothers, Earl O. and Robert T. Parker.

She is survived by her seven children: Carolyn Cannon (the late, Jack Cannon) of White Springs; James I. Terry (Carol), of Lake City; Doris Wilson (Charles), of Lake City; Margaret Hancock (John), of St. Louis, Missouri; Patricia Peeler (Bill) of Lake City; Janice Holloway (John), of Lake City; William Terry (Peggy), of Lake City; 16 grandchildren: Terry C. Register, Jackie C. Gaylard, Victor Wilson, Gail Terry, Lisa H. Vinci, Jan Terry, Jennifer P. Moon, Shelia H. Feagle, John Hancock, Wayne Terry, Carl Peeler, Nancy T. Pitts, Donna T. Terry, Callie T. Patrick, Anna H. Noll, and Kevin Terry; 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whose lives she touched in special ways that will never be forgotten.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 13, 2008 in the Siloam United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Peeler and Rev. Al Donovan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel.

As much as Callie loved and enjoyed the beauty and flowers of God's creation, it would have pleased her equally to have donations made in her memory to the Siloam Cemetery Association, 8842 SW SR 247, Lake City, Florida 32024.
