Helen Alice Brothers, 82, wife of Namon Kenneth Brothers for 63 years, died Tuesday, March 14 at the Markey Center after a courageous 29 year battle with cancer. Helen was a member of Palomar Baptist Church, member of the WMU, and shared her great faith in God with her family, her friends, and her church. She had a great love for her family and they for her. She was an avid gardener, quilter, and collected tea pots and Hummingbird figurines.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, a graduate of Princeton High School, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Young Dumont. Four sisters, Mildred Lang, Florence Streck, Frances Webb, Hariet Harris, and one brother, Walter Dumont preceded her in death.

In addition to her husband, survivors include one daughter, Kathy (Ed) Neal of Midway, three sons, David (Robin) Brothers of St. Charles, MO, Bryan (Trina) Brothers and Daniel (Dana) Brothers, both of Lawrenceburg, six grandchildren, Valerie (Charles) Whitsell of St. Charles, MO, Jennifer Neal (Nathan) Comley of Lexington, Kenneth Tyler Brothers, Joseph Allen Brothers, Jessica Grace Brothers, Emma Katherine Brothers, all of Lawrenceburg, four great grandchildren, Madeline Ann, Samantha Lee, Sophia Bell Whitsell, Jack Alexander Comley, and a brother, Frank (June) Dumont of New Jersey.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 16 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home with Rev. James Heard officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edgar Neal, Allen Dobson, John Davis, James Bowen, Gary Flora, and John Hymer. Honorary pallbearers will be David Bach, Terry Lane, David Humphreys, Jim Crowe, George Tunnell, Fred Faust, and the Deacons and former Deacons of Palomar Baptist Church.

The family wishes to Thank all who have supported them during Helen's illness, especially the Care Teams at the UK Markey Center. Memorials are suggested to Palomar Baptist Church or to American Cancer Society.
