LAUREL J. ANDERSON

HARC OURT — Laurel J. Anderson, 70, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at the Gowrie Care Center.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1 at Faith Lutheran Church, Harcourt, with Pastor Rod Meyer officiating. Burial will be at Lost Grove Township Cemetery with military rites by the Greenfield-Hartquist American Legion Post 699 of Harcourt. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Palmer & Sons Funeral Home in Gowrie is serving the family.

Laurel is survived by sisters, Arlene Hintch of Harcourt, Marilyn Chase and her husband Vearl of Oxnard, Calif.; brothers, Vincent Anderson of Council Bluffs, and LuVerne Anderson of Independence, Mo.; 12 nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-niece and nephew; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Arthur and Edna L. (Berglund) Anderson, brother-in-law, Don Hintch, and sister-in-law, Judy Anderson.

Laurel J. Anderson was born March 22, 1936, north of Harcourt. He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church and graduated from Harcourt High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He worked in Omaha from 1958-1960 and then worked at Hercules Chemical Co. in Concord, Calif. until 1966 when he began employment at the Naval Weapon Station until 1970. He then returned to the area and was employed at Dickey Clay in Lehigh until 1979 when he began working at the Hub Cafe in Harcourt before moving to Springfield, Mo. in 1989. While in Springfield, he worked at Positronic Industries before his retirement in 1998. In January 2001, he moved to Harcourt to live with his sister Arlene. On Sept. 15, 2005, he moved to the Gowrie Care Center.

Laurel was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and Greenfield-Hartquist American Legion Post 699 of Harcourt.

Laurel J. Anderson, son of J. Arthur and Edna L. (Berglund) Anderson, was born on March 22, 1936, north of Harcourt. He passed away June 1, 2006 at the Gowrie Care Center at the age of seventy years.

Laurel was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church and graduated from Harcourt High School in 1963. He sered in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957.
