"Mrs. Clara" was born in the Scuffletown community of Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Van Nettles and Sarah Nettles.
She retired after seventeen years as a clerk from the Colleton County Auditors Office and was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of forty-two years, Robert Carl Beverly of Walterboro; daughter, Brenda C. Beverly of Walterboro; son, Rodney C. Beverly of Walterboro; sisters, Blanche Benton of Walterboro and Florence Simpson of Berkeley Springs, WV; and a grandson, Lucas Zaker.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Earl Beverly.
