Born in Buncombe County NC, Daughter of Thomas Dawson Harris and Mary Malissa Hutchins, ended up in Seattle Washington where she passed, I have her death certificate with her then current name as Martha L. Sjostedt with both her sons James Willis and Oliver Francis Davis signing off for her cremation, she is known as an owner of a boarding house at 218 9th Ave in downtown Seattle, Sjostedt Apartments(update)Looks like the boarding house was owned by the Salvation Army and was called the "Sjostedt Apartments" Need to track this down and confirm. Her ashes were scattered at Craggy Gardens NC by Oliver's Family in 1999.
Note: My Mom has told the story that she and her sibs would visit Grandma Sjostedt at her home in Rosehill, a suburb of Kirkland Washington. She recalls picking raspberry's and eating them because they lived on a farm that grew them, she also remembers her Grandma re-hemming old dresses for her and her sister to weir for dress up(family rumor is the dresses or fancy gowns where from when Grandma was in silent movie productions that she wore). I did check and the Rosehill area has a history of the government helping local people setup berry farms to help out the economy at the time.
