Mary (Margie) Simon was born on May 24, 1946 in Soileau, Louisiana. She rested peacefully on March 5, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 65.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Selestine Bushnell, her two brothers McZeal and Willis Bushnell and her only son and first-born child, Kevin Wayne Simon.

On April 7, 1964, she married Louis Simon, Jr., They shared an 18-year marriage and had four children to this union. She leaves to forever cherish her memory her three daughters, Bernadine Simon-Armstrong; Selestine Simon, and Bernita White (Carlton). She is also survived by six sisters. Also to cherish her memory are 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and companion Lionel Price, and a host of other relatives and friends. Prior, to her retirement, Margie worked for Dr. Byron Holt for 20 years. She worshipped at Saint Monica's Catholic Church for most of her adult life. She is loved by many and enjoyed sharing time with family and friends. She is a women of great courage, faith and love.

Services for Margie will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the Saint Monica Catholic Church. The visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M., followed by the rosary beginning at 10:20 A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M., Interment will follow at Paradise North Cemetery, Father John Ayang, Officiant.
