Mark was actively involved in the Marching Band since 4th grade where he played his favorite instrument, the drums. In 1995 he was a member of the DPHS junior Lacrosse team. In 1997 he become a member of the Deer Park Junior Fire department, where he was fond of the fire trucks. On days when he did not have any activity, he worked at a local McDonalds where he was loved and respected for being an excellent worker, a kind friend and a pleasure to be around with.
On Sunday, July 12, 1998 around 12:45 AM, after a joyful day celebrating his mother parents' 50th weeding anniversary, he and his best friend went out for a ride in the town. He would not return home, he died at 12:54 AM few blocks from his home.
On Wednesday, July 15, 1998, he was lay to rest at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Although he was a quiet and shy boy, his funeral was emotional, ironically, a moment where a parent could feel proud of his son. The high school class mates, his brother's friends and family members gave him the final farewell.
Although he was quiet and shy he touched so many lives his kindness, love for others and the unselfishness was shown in his farewell. The outpouring of all the people in this beautiful community, our families and friends made us feel proud that we had raise a wonderful boy. We will thankful and grateful to all.
