Brother of Mayor Ora Hubble dies Saturday, January 21, 1956: In Failing Health some time.
John Roscoe "Ross" Hubble, 62, brother of Mayor Ora Hubble of this city, died Saturday morning at Memorial hospital following an extended period of failing health. He had not been well for several years.
Mr. Hubble was a former teacher in the public schools of Wayne County and had lived on a farm northeast of Enterprise all his life.

My uncle. Brother of my paternal Grandfather and the oldest of the 4 boys in the family.
"Ross" (as he preferred to be called) farmed the land next to my Great Grandparents farm. He and his wife Bessie had one son, Roscoe Leroy Hubble. I never got to know Ross because he died when I was very young.

Funeral Monday
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon (today) from the Enterprise E.U.B. church, with Rev. Clarence Kimmel officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery.
John Roscoe, son of John and Samantha Hubble, was born July 25th, 1893, near Enterprise. He grew to manhood in that same vicinity and his married home was just east of the old family homestead. He received his education in Wayne county schools.
He was married to Bessie Simmons May 2nd, 1920, and one son was born to this union.
In November, 1924, he confessed faith in Christ and united with the Zif Christian church, where he was an active member until this congregation ceased to function, then with his wife he transferred to the Enterprise E.U.B. church, serving this congregation in many ways.
Member of Masons
Mr. Hubble was a member of the Mt. Erie Lodge, No. 331, A.F. & A.M. and was also a 32nd degree mason, member of the Mississippi Valley Consistory at East St. Louis.
He is survived by his widow; a son, Leroy, of Cumberland, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Helen; three grandchildren, Carl, Shara and Howey; three brothers, Ora J. and Weldon C. Hubble, both of Fairfield, and Leland Hubble of Hawthorne, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hill of Fairfield, and Mrs. Vesta Clutter and Mrs. Wenonah Stine, both of Cisne.
