Wilbur Eldon Dunker, 89 of Hull, IL died at 10:05 A.M. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Hull United Methodist Church in Hull, IL. Burial with full military honors will be at the Kinderhook Cemetery in Kinderhook, IL. Pastor Shelia Kelly and Pastor Sheri Renner will officiate.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the church. Masonic rites will be held at 7:00 PM at the church.

The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal, MO.

Wilbur was born on November 12, 1922 in Mason County, IL to Cora Bell Petty Dunker and Charles Fredrick Dunker. He was the sixth of thirteen children.

He was a graduate of New Canton High School and enlisted in the Army Air Corp. Mr. Dunker served in the Army Air Corps and then the United States Air Force during World War II.

On December 14, 1945 he married Charlotte Louise Mosley. They had two children Linda Sue Dunker and Robert Eldon Dunker. They made their home farming near Hull, IL. Mr. Dunker also operated a Bulk Plant for Continental Oil Company for thirty years.

Wilbur was a member of the American Legion, Hull Masonic Lodge and past treasurer for the Hull Lion's Club. He was an active member of the Hull United Methodist Church and had worked on building the new church after the flood of 1993. For many years he welcomed the children who attended pre-school at the church and was known as "Uncle Wilbur" to all of them. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, his parents, Charles and Cora Dunker, two sisters Opal Kroencke and Garnett Peters, three brothers Charles (Todd), Clyde, and Richard Dunker, and a great grandson, Nathaniel Garrison.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda of Hull, son, Robert (Mary Lou) of St. Joseph, IL; four grandchildren Kathy (Nathan) Garrison of Savoy, IL, Carey Rossi of Champaign, IL Courtney Astle of Chicago, IL, and Clay Dunker of St. Joseph, IL; ten great-grandchildren, Haley, Hayden, Emma, Elijah, Aleigha, Grace, and Solomon Garrison, Lydia and Max Rossi, and Will Astle. Also surviving are two brothers, Bill (Betty) Dunker and John (Eileen) Dunker of Hull and five sisters, Virginia Schulz, Pearl Hillyard, June(Robert) Lingwall of Hull, Ruby Cole, and Pat Likes of Barry, IL. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Dunker, Rich Dunker, Tom Dunker, Jim Foster, Larry Kroencke, and Larry Mosley.

Memorials may be made to the Hull United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or to the Great Rivers Honor Flight Program both in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal, MO.
