John Foster married Susan Melvina (Bevel) Sipes on January 01,1890 after his first wife died leaving him with 8 children. The children Born of this marriage are as follows:

(1) Suda Sipes born 09/05/1892 died 09/17/1892 as an infant

(2) Birdy Dempsy Sipes born 04/08/1894 died 05/23/1894 as an infant

(3) Tommie Lou (Sipes) Selby born 04/06/1896 died 03/27/1974 and buried at Butler cemetery in Atoka, Oklahoma

(4) George Debnon Sipes born 06/27/1897 died 01/14/1970 and buried at Lovington,Cemetery in New Mexico

Susan lived with her daughter from the time her husband John Foster Sipes had died until she passed away at the home of her daughter Tommie Lou (Sipes) Selby.Although we never knew her she must have been one tough lady to take the responsibility of raising 8 children from John's first marriage. As you can see by looking at the dates of death Susan lost 2 children to death while they were infants. Life sure must have been rough in those times. We love and respect her for all she stands for. If not for Susan we would not be here. We all love you Great-Grandmother Susan. She is the mother of our Grandfather George Debnon Sipes.
