Harold Eugene Waddell, 80, of Hurricane died September 20, 2003, in Putnam General Hospital.
Born March 15, 1923 in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was the son of the late James Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Cofer Waddell.
After spending his early years in Gallipolis, he moved to the Kanawha Valley area in the mid 1950s. He was an over-the-road truck driver, retiring from Smith Transfer, Belle. While driving he amassed a driving record of one million miles driven without an accident and received the Mack Million Mile Award.
Surviving: wife, Mozell Wiggins Waddell; children, Larry Waddell of Columbus, Ohio, Kenneth Waddell of Circleville, Ohio, Rick Dimitroff of Belle, and Ann Marcum of Nitro; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; cousin, Paul Waddell of Toledo, Ohio.
Service was held Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.
