WELLINGTON — P.J. White, 80, of Wellington died Thursday, March 8, 2012.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Church of Christ with Mac Deaver, minister of Church of Christ in Sheffield, and Phil
Collard, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial
Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Collins, Johnson & Thornberry Funeral Directors.
P.J. was born July 23, 1931, in Quail to Obie and Lydia Ogletree White. He was a 1949 graduate of Quail High School.
P.J. married Rosa Patterson on Dec. 24, 1950, in Wellington. He worked as a farmer. P.J. served on the Federal Housing Administration board, was active in the 4-H Riding Club, and was a Future Farmers of America sponsor.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Merrell, in 1993; two brothers, Welman and Elvis White; and a brother-in-law, Dale Farris.
Survivors inlcude his wife, Rosa White of Wellington; two sons, Pat White and wife Val and Rodney White and wife Marie, all of Wellington; a daughter, Lesa Thornberry and husband Drew of Wellington; three sisters, Marie Farris, Neva Thomas and
husband John and Jo Helen Cabbell and husband Jim; a brother, Harold White and wife Betty; two sisters-in-law, Jeane White and Betty White; 11 grandchildren, Warren Merrell and wife Amy of Idalou, Clay Merrell and wife Brandi of Amarillo, PJay
Merrell and wife Shelly of Mansfield, Jana Calvert and husband Donny of Idalou, Shannon Brown and husband Daryon and Erin Smith and husband Jayme, all of Wellington, Leslee Wood and husband Jody of Clinton, Okla., Lauren Brown and husband Chad of Frisco, Ryan White of Lubbock and Ashlen Thornberry and Amber
