PARKER, JAMES (JIM) M., of Orlando, died Tuesday, Mar. 6, 2012. He was 67. Jim was born in Birmingham, AL, and grew up in Winter Park. He graduated from Winter Park High School, Orlando Junior College, and was a member of the first graduating class from Florida Technological University (now the University of Central Florida). He was also the president of the first fraternity at FTU. Jim served in the United States Air Force including operations throughout Asia during the Vietnam War. He went on to start a successful real estate business in Sarasota, including owning and operating five offices throughout Venice, Sarasota, and Bradenton. He was also a developer, most notably developing the Park Estates community in South Venice. He retired to Altamonte Springs but stayed involved in several investment groups to keep busy. Jim was the father of four children, Jason, Jessica, Jimbo, and Julia, whom he loved very much. He was also the loving son of Mary Parker; and brother of Joy Dever and Jayne Parker. He was a deeply spiritual man and an active member of his church, First Baptist of Winter Park. He will be missed very much.
