LEWISTOWN - W. Harlan Underwood, 88, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, and formerly of Lewistown, died at 7:13 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at the home.

Born on Jan. 2, 1920, in Parkesburg, he was a son of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Lewis) Underwood. His wife, Ruth (Colyer) Underwood, whom he married in 1942, survives.

Also surviving: a son, William H. Underwood III, of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Matthew Underwood and Carin Knight.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

He was owner and operator of Atlantic District Agent, KOA Kamp Grounds and Coffee Services Distributor.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Lewistown, and the New London Masonic Lodge No. 545.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, from the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Robert Zorn officiating. Interment will be held at the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, Parkesburg.

Viewing will be held at 1 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
