Obituary: DIES OF Scarlet FEVER. Robert Eugene Kirkland Had Been Ill for Only a Few Hours.
Robert Eugene, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kirkland of Palermo neighborhood, died at 11:30 Wednesday night at his home. Scarlet fever was given as the cause of death. The lad attended Palermo school the day before. Robert was born Jan. 31, 1930, in St. Joseph. Robert had infantile paralysis in the epidemic about 2 years ago, but made almost complete recovery.
Surviving are his parents and five brothers and sisters; Ruth, Dorothy, Johnnie, Helen and baby. Robert was the eldest child.
Private funeral services will be held Friday from Dodds chapel, with burial in Belmont.
