At the foot of the column, resting on a pedestal, there is a plow, while on the lawn of the gate at the base, there is a bomb, relic of World War I. On the right side of the pedestal is affixed a bronze plaque depicting an eagle dying, are posted on the left side - also in bronze - the Coat of arms of the municipality of San Ferdinando di Puglia and Coat of arms of the Savoy. A facade of the monument bears the bulletin of victory of Gen Armando Vittorio Diaz, the facade facing the Mother Church, reproduces some verses from the poem "The Eagle and The Hero" of the poet Vincenzo Francavilla, written on the battlefield, a few hours before dying in front of Gorizia on 7 August 1916.
