Henry Doyen, son of Harman and Elizabeth (Ritter) Doyen, was born in Petersburg, Illinois. On January 29, 1919 he was married to Anna Seehusen of Pomeroy, Iowa. They were the parents of three children, Margaret, Alice, and Lewis. Henry and Anna lived the first 13 years of their married life in Illinois, returning to Pomeroy in 1932. They farmed in the Pomeroy-Jolley area until retiring in 1950 when they moved into their home in Pomeroy.
