Mary Ruth Osman, age 75 of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:15 AM, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 as a result of injuries from the tornado.
Mary was born on January 28, 1937 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky the daughter of the late Lizzie Collier. She married Glen D. Osman and he preceded her in death in January 1992. She attended Walnut Grove Church. She worked as a hat maker and supervisor for Harrisburg Manufacturing and she later worked at Joy's Hallmark.
Mary is survived by a son, Darrell Osman and wife Carolyn of Harrisburg, a daughter, Dena McDonald and husband Steve of Nineveh, Indiana, grandchildren, Jennifer Osman of Harrisburg, and fiancé, Brad Reed, Doug Osman of Nashville, Tennessee, Cameron Bruce of Plainfield, Indiana, Casey McDonald of Nineveh, Indiana, and Jonathon McDonald of Nineveh, Indiana, great grandson, Troy Neil Bruce of Plainfield, Indiana, and one nephew, Bob Hall of Eldorado.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Mark Smith will officiate, burial will follow in Spring Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM, Friday, March 2, 2012 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Red Cross or the Illinois Baptist Disaster Relief. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
