Relative remembers story that Patrick arrived as indentured laborer to ship Captain in exchange for passage. Laboring rights were then transferred to someone in the U.S. (no confirmation)
Granddaughter recalled that Patrick and Anna were young when they came to U.S. - into Cleveland.
Granddaughter recalled in letter that there were several brothers ... Patrick's brothers fought on opposite sides in the Civil War. At least one ended up in Alabama. Grandson later visited as evidenced by note in his railroad planner and reports of relatives.
Married Ann Hickey abt 1860. 1900 Census shows they had been married 40 years. First child, Mary, born abt 1860 in April? She was 2 at time.

Patrick gave testimony that he had worked with John from 1867 to Jul 1877 on Cleveland and Pittsburgh Railroad track. Michael Dowling witnessed Patrick's signed X. (brother?)
