Obituary from the Madison, IN, Daily Courier, 2 October 1882: "Death of Mrs. Friedersdorff.
Mrs. Elizabeth Friedersdorff, wife of the late Conrad Friedersdorff, died at her reisdence on East Main Cross Street yesterday morning, after an illness of of two weeks of congestion of the bowels. She was an estimable lady, loved by all who knew her, and an indulgent mother. Her demise was no doubt hastened by grief over the death of her daughter, which occurred two weeks ago.

This family has been particularly afflicted in the last few years by death. First, the father and husband was stricken, then a devoted son, George. Next the daughter, Lizzie, and now the wife and mother. To this remaining children, this last affliction is worst of all and the one they were least able to stand. The mother was their best friend and advisor. They have the sympathy of the entire community in the deep affliction. The poor of the city will mourn with the afflicted family as Mrs. Friedersdorff for many years was a member of the Ladies' Aid Society and dispensed her charity liberally during her days of prosperity."
