Maria Grazia "Mary" Corradino was born on 13 MAR 1891 in the little mountain village of Geraci Siculo on the island of Sicily, Italy. Her parents were Rosario & Maria Grazia (Paruta) CORRADINO. Maria was christened on 14 MAY 1891 in the local Catholic Church.

Maria's father, Rosario immigrated to the United States on 24 MAY 1893. He worked in the local coal mines of southeastern Colorado (Las Animas County), where he established a home for his family back in Italy. In 1896, Mary's mother, Maria Grazia, traveled alone from Italy to the Trinidad, Las Animas county, Colorado (USA) with her three small children, including Mary (age 6).

Maria Grazia ran a boarding house for the miners of the area. When Mary was seventeen, she was arranged in marriage to Domenico TEAULLE on 19 SEP 1908. Domenico was the son of Vincenti & Anna (Farconi) TEULLE. By April of 1910, Mary took a brave stance and going against her beloved Catholic Church, she divorced Domenico on the grounds of abusive behavior.

On 17 FEB 1912, Mary had a civil marriage to the widower, Antonio Iuppa. Antonio also originated from the village of Geraci Siculo (Italy) having arrived in Colorado on 23 APR 1905. He was the son of Battista & Concetta (Scancarello) IUPPA. Mary took on the immediate role of mother to his two children, Conchetta "Jennie" (age 3) & Domenico "Meco" (age 1).

Mary & Antonio had two children together:

1) Maria Grazia "Mary Grace" (1912-1974)
2) Elizabeth Lucille "Parina" (living)

Upon the death of Mary's first husband, Domenic, Mary and Antonio were able to have a symbolic Catholic Church wedding ceremony on 22 MAY 1947. Her daughter & son-in-law, Charlie & Mary Grace (Iuppa) CAPPELLUCCI stood as witnesses.

Mary helped her husband on their farm in El Moro, Las Animas, Colorado where she spent the rest of her life.

She died of a myocardial infarction at age 85 on 28 FEB 1977 in the Mt. Rafael Hospital in Trinidad. She was buried in the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery, next to her beloved husband, Antonio.
