Rudolph Lane Dudley, 79, of Mason, Texas died on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Kerrville Veterans Hospital in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on October 14, 1929 in Ferndale, Michigan to the late H.K. Dudley and Erma Short Dudley. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his Brothers Kenneth Dudley, and Edison Dudley. He is survived by his wife to whom he married November of 1951, Joyce E. Mayberry Dudley; one son, Ron Dudley of Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Jeannette York and husband JD of Abilene, Texas; one granddaughter, Jessica Morse and husband Jesse of Bury Saint Edmonds, England; one sister, Helen Arnold, and husband Jake of Midland, Texas; sister-in-law, Wandalene Dudley of Midland, Texas; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many others. Rudy was a Captain in the Midland Fire Department for 30 years, and veteran of the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of Dudley Electric Company for 20 years, and a member of the Midland Barbershop Quartet. The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home Friday, June 5, 2009 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park North. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home of Midland.
