Lillian was born at Kettleby in King Township, York County, Ontario, Canada.


She married John James Chisholm on 4 December 1901 at Kettleby. At that time, Lillian was still a resident of Kettleby and John was a resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. By the time their daughter Kathleen was born in 1906, Lillian and John were living in Winnipeg.


By 1929 the family was residing in Pasadena, Los Angeles County. They returned to Canada briefly and entered the United States again via Blaine, Washington in September 1933 for the purpose of becoming naturalized citizens. That process was completed in 1939.


The family continued to reside in Pasadena, where Lillian died on 1 May 1948. A brief notice of her death was published in the Los Angeles Times on 3 May 1948, p. 17.
