Beloved husband of Iola (nee Devenport) Newton; loving father of Martha (Jim) Ikemeier, Marcia (Earl) Barrett and Deborah (Kevin) Collins; loving grandfather of Gillian, Seann, Rhiannon, Ryan, Bronwynn, Jared, Katelyn and the late Hilary; great-grandfather of seven; loving brother, brother-inlaw, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Charles was a U.S. Navy submarine veteran of WWII, having served on the USS Stingray, a member of US Subvets of WWII and a past member of Mensa and DPMA; he was most proud of his membership in Parker Road Baptist Church. Services: Funeral at HUTCHENS Mortuary, Florissant, Thurs., Feb. 23, 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment National Cemetery. Memorials appreciated to Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, 804 West Diamond Ave, Suite 210, Gaithersburg MD 20878. Visitation 3-7 p.m. Wednesday.
