Earl Aaron, 80, North Vernon, died at 8:30 p.m., Friday, March 10, 1995 at the Jennings Community Hospital.
Born April 19, 1914, he was the son of Virgil and Lillie Aaron. He married Ovalene Aaron and she survives.
He was a retired educator. He also lived for some time in Hammond, Ind. He had bachelors and masters degrees in history, physical education, and administration from Western Kentucky State University at Bowling Green, Ky. He held an EDS degree in education from Butler University at Indianapolis. During his career, he was a teacher, coach, guidance counselor and school principal. Locally, he was formerly principal and coach at Sandcreek High School and Elementary School, resigning as principal in 1958.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Ind., Phi Delta Kappa, the Gary-Merrilville Lions Club, the American Association of Retired Persons and Farm Bureau. He was a former member of the Westport Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife; one son, John Aaron of North Vernon; one brother, Stanley Aaron of Florida; one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home at Westport with the Rev. Charles Tichenor officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Aerie Cemetery at Letts.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
