David Nelson Serls, 64, of Kenna went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at home following a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hedrick and Audrey Agnas (Fields) Serls; brothers, Ralph, Clarence and William Serls; and sisters, Gertrude Boggess and Adaline Bailey.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Lou Serls; son, David Nelson Serls II of Charleston; daughters, Audrey Faye Serls of Cleveland, Ohio, and Julia Anne Williams of Kenna; brothers, Dewey Serls of Bomont, Carl Serls of Charleston, Johnny Serls of Romney and Dayton Serls of Charleston; sisters, Betty Guthrie of Florida, Lorreen Teel of Ohio and Julie Miller of Bomont; grandchildren, Joseph, Loucreasey, April, Randy, Matthew, Emily, Lonnie, David, Joshua and Breauna; and great-grandchildren, Destiny, Dalton, Nickalous, Airauna, Little Bub and Andrew.

David's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin, with Pastor Billy Serls. Burial will be in Serls Family Cemetery, Glen.

David's family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
