At age 15, he became a junior firefighter and EMT on the Troutdale Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He served in several offices including assistant chief. He was a certified driver pump operator, training officer and firefighter I, II and III. In 1987, he graduated from Independence High School. He began working at Mr. Casuals his senior year of high school and went on to be employed by Marley Wood Products, Royal Mouldings and most recently IDC, where he had worked since 2007.

SERVICES: Visitation will be at 3:30 Feb. 19 at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, with services beginning at 4:30 p.m. with Elder Jim Cox officiating. Private burial will be at Anderson Hill Cemetery in Troutdale.
