Geraline M. "Jerry" Parker, age 87, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on July 16, 2011 at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, TX. Jerry was born in Carbon, Texas in 1924 and lived in West Texas until 1960 when she moved to New Mexico. Jerry married her husband, Bill in 1946 and they had two children, James and Marilyn. Jerry remained a devoted wife for nearly 65 years until her death. All who knew her appreciated her calm and mild spirit. Jerry enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jerry was an intelligent and hard worker, always open to learning new things and enjoyed travelling with her husband after her retirement. Jerry was a great example of kindness and gentleness toward all she met. Jerry will be missed by all who knew and loved her for the wonderful person she was. Jerry was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Jerry retired from Civil Service at Holloman Air Force Base. Jerry was also a member of AARP, NARFE and UMW. Jerry is survived by her husband, Bill Parker of the family home, a son, James Rogers Parker and his wife, Cathy of Albuquerque, NM, a daughter, Marilyn Marie Edwards of Irving, TX and grandchildren, Sarah Propes and her husband, Beau of Hickory Creek, TX, Jason Edwards and his wife, Jodi of Bryan, TX, Nikki Parker Ray, MD and her husband, Mike of Albuquerque, NM, Kelly Jenkins of Panama City Beach, FL and seven great-grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by her brother, Truman Hines of Rancho Mirage, CA.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church with Reverend Mary Taken officiating. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Alamogordo Funeral Home.
