Dorothy C. Arabia 1925 - 2012 NORTH ADAMS Dorothy Clara (Harvey) Arabia, 86, of 74 Washington Ave. North Adams, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at North Adams Regional Hospital. She was born in Clarksburg on Aug. 8, 1925, daughter of Albert and Melvina (Gelinas) Harvey. She attended Clarksburg schools. Dorothy worked at Sprague Electric Co.and the former McCraw & Tatro Clothing Store. She was primarily a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dorothy especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a member of the Twin Club and the former Moose Club. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Survivors include her husband, Anthony J. Arabia, whom she married on July 7, 1960; five sons, Joseph Arabia and his wife, Kathy, and Paul Arabia and his wife, Diane, all of North Adams, Anthony Arabia of Biddeford, ME, Perry Arabia and his partner, Paul Ulianelli, of Taunton, and Richard Superneau, and his wife, Helen, of Clarksburg; eight daughters, Kathleen Ballou of Monroe, Diana Cooper and her husband, Douglas, of Newburyport, Marlene Superneau, Mary Ann King and her husband, Leon, Anna Marie Arabia, and Denise Blaisdell and her husband, Mark, all of North Adams, Donna Arabia of Worcester, and Dorothea Haskins of Clarksburg; 20 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Sorel of Ludlow; two brothers, Albert Harvey and Norman Harvey of North Adams; nieces and nephews. A granddaughter, Jennifer Arabia, is deceased and a brother, Ernest P. Harvey, is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Dorothy Arabia will be Friday, Feb. 10, 2012,at 9:30 AM from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 4-7 PM. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
