July 8, 1921 - February 12, 2012
Dorothy Pinson Eoff was born July 8, 1921 in Voca, Texas to Zim and Mollie Wren Pinson. She passed away February 12, 2012 at the age of 90.
Mrs. Eoff was devoted to her husband Herman Joe Eoff of 65 years, her daughter Patricia Duncan of Early, her two grandchildren Dianna Wright of Osceola, Wisconsin and Johnny Duncan Jr. Of Early; three great-grandchildren Nikki Duncan, Christina and Molli Ulberg; three step-great-grandchildren Sara Laquey, Christina and Logan Sweeney; three great-great grandchildren, her sister Lennie Neal age 93 who resides at CARE nursing center, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers Audie, Bert, Cecil, Cotton, Ted and Oran Pinson; two sisters Vera Huddleston and Bessie Hinshaw.
Dorothy and Joe were both avid gardeners. She loved to cook and can the produce from their garden, pecan and fruit trees. But most of all she loved she loved her God and her family. To her friends she was "The Pie Lady" who always brought her famous buttermilk and pecan pies.
A child of the Great Depression and an honors graduate of the school of hard knocks, she knew hardship and sacrifice. To those closest to her, she was the eternal pessimist, until just a few years ago, when she was transformed by the dreaded Alzheimer's Disease ( and Ms. Anne Cottrel, her optimistic roommate at CARE) from a worrywart to a glowing outgoing person who greeted everyone she met with a genuine smile and a joke. She literally lost the ability to remember what to worry about.
Special thanks for the loving kindness and wonderful care she has received for the last two years at CARE Nursing Center, and for all the visits and prayers from Early First Baptist Church, where she was a member for the last few decades.
Although she will be greatly missed here, we will rejoice that she is now in the arms of Jesus and again laughing and joking with her loved ones in heaven. She now knows all things in truth and is likewise known by all
