The Sunday night shooting death of banker James J. Munday, 52, of 198 North Yates was ruled a suicide yesterday by the Shelby County medical examiners office. Burial in Memorial Park.

Mr. Munday was found fatally wounded with a gunshot wound in his right temple at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, January 30. A 45-caliber pistol was found nearby.

Police said Munday, the Germantown Branch manager for First Tennessee Bank, left a note in the house.

He was a member at Germantown United Methodist Church.

He was a past president and a member of the board of directors for the Germantown Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Germantown Civic Club.

He was a ham radio enthusiast and served as president of the Memphis FM Association and treasurer of the Mid-South Amateur Radio Association.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Annabelle Munday; a daughter, Miss Berri Munday of Germantown, and a brother, William B. Munday of Boston.
